Outside The Office - Procreate Freehand

When I’m not immersed in design strategy or creative direction, I like to unwind with a stylus in hand, sketching in Procreate. It’s my space to explore a looser, more playful side of creativity—often inspired by my love for classic cars and the wild, iconic art of Big Daddy Ed Roth. There’s something about that raw, rebellious energy that reminds me it’s okay to let loose and have a little fun with the craft. Here are a few of my Procreate pieces that capture that spirit.

“Bugged Out Beast”
There’s just something about the classic VW Bug that never fails to make me smile. With its quirky curves and a tiny engine tucked in the back, it was never built to go head-to-head with muscle car legends like the Cuda, GTO, or Camaro. But I’ve always wondered—what if it could? This piece is my tongue-in-cheek take on that idea: a reimagined Bug with an engine up front and an attitude to match. It’s a playful tribute to a humble icon that never aimed to be a beast… but maybe should’ve. And of course, no drawing feels complete without my own rendition of the legendary Ed Roth Rat Fink—his wild energy is the spark that brings every piece to life.

This piece is a featured drawing in CarToons magazine and comes straight from the garage—and my heart. I actually own a 1967 Camaro, and restoring it has been a true labor of love… for over five years and counting. It’s not finished yet, but that hasn’t stopped me from dreaming (and drawing) what it’ll feel like when it finally hits the road. I wanted to capture that raw, unfiltered joy with a character and car combo that brings the build to life, full of attitude, horsepower, and a little over-the-top fun. This drawing is my way of imagining the spirit of the car when it’s finally roaring down the road, turning heads, and living up to all the passion poured into every bolt.

This piece comes from a place of pure nostalgia. Back in high school, I owned a 1971 Torino and spent countless weekends cruising up and down Main Street in Worthington, Pennsylvania. Life was simple—just a few bucks for gas, good friends riding shotgun, and nowhere in particular to be but everywhere to go. This drawing is my way of reconnecting with those carefree moments. It's not just a car—it's a memory on wheels, drawn with empathy for a time when the road ahead felt wide open and all that mattered was the next turn. Through illustration, I try to capture the feeling as much as the form—because design, at its best, tells a story people can feel.

Well, I hope this gives you a peek into the looser, more playful side of my creativity. These drawings are where I get to let loose, explore ideas, and inject a bit of humor and personality into my work. Beyond these passion pieces, I’ve also created illustrations for infographics, video production, and a variety of multimedia projects. While these fun sketches show off my imagination, the rest of my portfolio showcases how I bring that same energy, precision, and storytelling into professional environments. Take a look around—there’s a little bit of everything in here.
